Getting Ready for a Scrapper Getaway Weekend?
You've come to the right place!
Packing!?! Here are some tips...
Is this your first Weekend Crop? Liz's tip #5 for packing for a crop: "Leave yourself plenty of time to pack. Nothing adds to the amount of stuff you bring like waiting to the last minute and throwing things in bags in a panic. I brought two large totes of paper to the Fall 2011 Getaway weekend that I did not even look at because I panicked while I was packing and didn’t think that I was bringing enough of my personal stuff to work with." Here are a few non-scrapbook related things you may want to bring:
Bathing Suit - if you want to take a dip in the outdoor hot tub!
Warm Pajamas - not for sleeping, but for cropping! The rooms where we sleep have plenty of quilts, but if you want to come downstairs and crop in your PJs, remember that it is November in Vermont!
Tabletop Ott Lite - we will have some extension cords. Each cropper will have electricity at their space.
12 x 12 Cricut mat - we have mats for you to use, but if you plan to use our Cricut often, please bring a mat.
Specialty snacks or drinks - The food there is wonderful, but if there is something specific that you know you will miss if you don't have it (ie. soda, yogurt, crackers) you are welcome to bring it. There is a refrigerator/freezer next to the crop room that will be available to everyone. And remember, we can't bring our own alcohol - VT State Law. Hiking shoes - If you want to take a break and explore your surroundings, Mountain Meadows Lodge is located right on the Appalachian Trail and has several short hikes on the property. Also, you can visit the barn and feed the animals - Alex the Pony and several goats (the lodge provides the food.)

When packing for a whole weekend, it's easy to bring too much! Keep in mind that we have some of the basics that we share with everyone.
Here are some things we are bringing for everyone to use:
12 x 12 Cricut and tons of cartridges
Huge selection of punches, cutters and border makers
Sizzix Big Kick & Spellbinders Nestabilities
Idea books and Layout Samples
Crop-a-Dile, selection of eyelets & brads
Bind-it-All & Wires
Epiphany Crafts - Various Shape Studios
If you are coming with a friend, check with each other
so that you don't bring two of everything.
Sharing tools and spare products is the best part of a crop!

What you can expect during a Yankee Scrapper Getaway Weekend:
What is included: Your room, scrap space, layout kit, games, make and takes, snacks and prizes! The following meals are included: Breakfast and Dinner on Friday; breakfast, lunch and dinner on Saturday and breakfast on Sunday as well as an ice cream sundae bar on Saturday night.
What is not included: 1) Alcoholic beverages, however, the bartender is available all weekend, so all you need to do is ask! Vermont State Law PROHIBITS anyone from bringing their own alcohol. We don't want anyone to get arrested, so please obey! 2) Lunch on Friday and Sunday is available for $10 per person. You don't have to let us know ahead of time and these additional costs can be charged to your room once you get there. You will be asked to settle your bill for lunches and alcohol before you check out on Sunday before 3pm. 3) Gratuity for the staff of Mountain Meadows Lodge is, of course, optional. But since people always ask us, we wanted to let you know that you are welcome (and encouraged) to tip the staff if you feel they have done a great job (which they always do!)
Contests & Games: There is no need to bring anything special for the games and contests and you don't need to prepare ahead of time. We bring the games and you choose how you want to participate. We even make sure to change up the games a little each year so that our veteran croppers will not have an advantage... GAME ON!

Do you know PAIGE?
If you don't know Paige, she is our scrapbook version of "Hot Potato." Paige is born each day from the Paper Dolls Cricut cartridge. She starts out as a blank canvas with a bag of possible embellishments and each time someone finishes a layout, they can add something to her outfit and keep her at their scrap station until the next person finishes a layout. Several times throughout the day, an alarm goes off and if you have Paige, you win a prize!
